Honda Motor Co. will introduce its second diesel-powered model in India when the redesigned City small sedan has its global debut there in January.
The fourth-generation model also will be available with a gasoline engine. Both engines are 1.5-liter 4-cylinder units. The car is the same length and width as the previous model but is slightly taller and has a wheelbase that is 2 inches longer.
The City will join Honda's first diesel offering in India, the Amaze small sedan, which was introduced earlier this year. Both models are produced locally.
Last year Honda sold 276,000 City cars in 55 countries, according to Nikkei Asian Review. It says the model accounted for nearly half of the company's sales in India.
