GM’s Maven Car-Share Service Launches in Toronto

Maven, the car-sharing service launched by General Motors Co., has added Toronto to its list of North American metro market areas.
The app-based service enables customers to locate, reserve and unlock a car when they need one. GM estimates that each car shared under the Maven system takes about 10 privately owned cars off the road.
Users pay as little as C$9 ($7) per hour or $C80 ($64) per day to use a Maven vehicle. The fee includes fuel and insurance, and there are no membership fees. GM says the Toronto service is launching with a fleet of 40 Chevrolet, GMC and Cadillac cars and SUV/crossover vehicles, including Chevrolet Volt electric sedans.
GM says Maven has attracted more than 110,000 users since the service debuted in two years ago in Ann Arbor, Mich.
