GM Captures Six J.D. Power Quality Awards

The 28-year-old survey polls U.S. consumers about their experience with vehicles in the first 90 days of ownership. Rankings are determined by average problems reported.
This year's industry average is 116 reported problems per 100 cars, up from 113 last year. Power attributes the uptick to electronic connectivity issues with all-new models.
The top five nameplates this year are Porsche (74), Jaguar (87), Lexus (92), Hyundai (94) and Toyota (105).
The lowest-scoring nameplates for 2014 are Fiat (206), Jeep (146), Mitsubishi (145), Scion (140) and Mazda (139).
GM models one car and five trucks won six best-in-segment designations: midsize car (Chevrolet Malibu), small SUV (Buick Encore), compact SUV (GMC Terrain), large SUV (Chevy Suburban, GMC Yukon) and large heavy-duty pickup truck (Chevy Silverado HD).
Ford picked up three segment awards: midsize SUV (Ford Edge), midsize premium SUV (Lincoln MKX) and large light-duty pickup (Ford F-150).
