Ford Shuffles Manufacturing Execs

Ford Motor Co. says Bruce Hettle, vice president of manufacturing in North America, will take over as group vice president of manufacturing and labor affairs on Jan. 1.

Ford Motor Co. says Bruce Hettle, vice president of manufacturing in North America, will take over as group vice president of manufacturing and labor affairs on Jan. 1. He will report to CEO Mark Fields.

Hettle, 54, will succeed John Fleming, who is retiring after a 48-year career with Ford. Fleming’s previous posts included chairman and CEO of Ford of Europe.

Replacing Hettle will be Gary Johnson, 51, who has been serving as vice president of manufacturing for Asia Pacific.

Separately, Ford has promoted Raj Nair, 50, to executive vice president of product development from group vice president of the same function. He will continue as the company’s chief financial officer and will continue to report to CEO Fields.
