Ford Otosan, the Turkish carmaking venture between Ford Motor Co. and Koc Holding AS, has officially launched production at a new van factory in Yenikoy, Turkey.

The $511 million (€374 million) facility is adjacent to Ford Otosan's existing Kocaeli vehicle assembly complex and is the venture's third assembly plant in Turkey.

The new factory has annual capacity to make 110,000 Ford Tourneo Courier small commercial vehicles and Transit Courier people mover variants. Ford says output will be sold in about 46 countries.

Ford and Koc have partnered for 55 years. Their venture also makes the Cargo heavy-duty truck, Transit and Transit Custom medium-duty commercial vehicles and Tourneo Customer passenger van.
