Faurecia SA plans to shutter an acoustic materials plant in Evreux, France, and end plastic bumper production at a French facility in Bains-sur-Oust this year.
Faurecia SA plans to shutter an acoustic materials plant in Evreux, France, and end plastic bumper production at a French facility in Bains-sur-Oust this year.
The company, which is 57.4% owned by PSA Peugeot Citroen, blames the cuts on the European car market slump, which has shrunk demand from PSA and other customers.
Faurecia's actions will eliminate a total of 130 jobs at the two factories, according to the company. It warns that further reductions are possible at Bains-sur-Oust when it reorganizes other operations there. Faurecia also has said it will shed 3,000 jobs in Europe this year.
