Eberspaecher Opens Tech Center in China
Germany's Eberspaecher Group has opened a technical center in Shanghai to develop and test exhaust systems.
Germany's Eberspaecher Group has opened a technical center in Shanghai to develop and test exhaust systems.
The 40,900-sq-ft facility, which is connected to Eberspaecher’s existing production facility in Shanghai, will be used to test materials and designs used in passenger and commercial vehicles. The center also will house a prototyping shop.
Eberspaecher says the facility will be used to analyze the performance of various exhaust systems, including those equipped with selective catalytic reduction aftertreatment systems for diesel engines.
A semi-anechoic room will be used to conduct acoustic testing, which Eberspaecher says is becoming increasingly important for Chinese consumers. The facility can lower background noise to 25 dBA.
