The show says it also has signed a seven-year contract to continue using Detroit’s Cobo Center as the epicenter of its activities through 2026.
Next month’s show will begin on Jan. 14 with four days of media and industry previews capped by the Charity Preview on Jan. 18. Public days will run Jan. 19-27.
The following show’s preview week will be June 9-11, with a revamped Charity Preview on June 12 ahead of seven public days. The 2020 show will expand throughout downtown Detroit with events at area parks and along the Detroit waterfront.
Organizers say the move to a summer date also will help carmakers and suppliers conduct real-world demonstrations of their technologies.
