General Motors Co.’s Cadillac marque confirms it has stopped making its slow-selling plug-in hybrid ELR sport coupe.

The stylish car, which was propelled by the same powertrain used in the $33,000 Chevrolet Volt extended-range electric sedan, debuted in 2013 with a staggering $76,000 price tag. GM has sold about 2,300 ELRs over the past two years.

Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen said in January the company decided against developing a second-generation version of the car.

The ELR was intended as a low-volume “halo” model. But buyers remained unmoved even after Cadillac cut the car’s price by $10,000 at the start of the 2016 model year.
