BMW AG is using 5 Series sedans to debut its premium-level Ride-Hailing service in Chengdu, China.

Half of Ride-Hailing’s 500-car fleet will be propelled by plug-in hybrid powertrains, according to the company.

The service complements ReachNow, a car-sharing service launched in Chengdu a year ago with Shanghai-based car-sharing company EVCard. ReachNow offers a fleet of 100 BMW i3 electric city cars that users rent at a rate of 2 yuan (30 cents) per minute.
