BASF to Open Battery Chemistry Labs in Japan
German chemical giant BASF AG is opening two R&D facilities in Amagasaki, Japan, that will focus on electrolytes and electrode materials for high-performance batteries.
German chemical giant BASF AG is opening two R&D facilities in Amagasaki, Japan, that will focus on electrolytes and electrode materials for high-performance batteries.
A new battery materials lab will partner with research institute and industry in Japan to develop new electrolytes and electrode materials. An application technology center will develop customer-specific technologies for Japan's battery industry.
Both operations will be co-located in a 6,500 sq.-ft. facility. BASF says the lab will open in April and become fully functional by year-end.
