Wind River Systems Inc.’s software for the Internet of Things is a natural fit for the auto industry’s move into advanced driver assist features and autonomous driving, says Peter Brown, chief automotive architect.
Carmakers want to reduce the dozens of computer chips in today’s cars by enabling each one to run to multiple operating systems. Brown says Wind River’s virtualization technology can help them accomplish that goal, while protecting the intellectual property associated with each software program.
