Magna International Inc. is helping car companies integrate such building blocks for autonomous driving as automatic steering, adaptive cruise control and emergency automatic braking.
The company’s goal is to provide an integrated solution that delivers the desired user experience, tailored to the model-by-model expectations of the carmaker, explains Chris Van Dan Elzen, global product director for Magna Electronics’ driver assistance systems.
He says Magna enables carmakers to offer automated features that drivers can use when they wish but also switch off and do the driving themselves if they prefer.
