AB Volvo tells the Economic Times it will spend roughly $100 million over the next five years twice the pace of the last decade to expand its commercial truck operations in India.
The company says investments will cover buses, trucks, construction equipment and financial services. Much of the spending will be to expand existing facilities and add new products, ET reports.
Volvo Truck predicts India's slumping commercial truck market will surge 15%-20% this year, including 40% growth in the premium segment.
