Bjorn Annwall, currently heads global consumer experience, will take over commercial operations, which includes shaping the company’s core global business strategy. The 43-year-old also will oversee global marketing, customer service and activities in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

Lex Kerssemakers, 59, held previous assignments that included CEO of Volvo operations in North America and then the Europe/Africa/Middle East markets. He will head a newly formed unit, Direct Consumer Business, to develop new direct relationships with consumers.
The management board’s two departing members are David Ibison, whose is leaving the company and turning over his board responsibilities to Annwall; and Thomas Ingenlath, whose board duties will go to Green. Ingenlath will continue as Volvo’s chief design officer and CEO of the company’s Polestar brand.
