Non-farm jobs in the U.S. grew by 175,000 from January to February, but the separately calculated unemployment rate rose from 6.6% to 6.7%, the U.S. Dept. of Labor reports.
Month-to-month employment in the auto industry gained 7,100 jobs to 833,800 on a non-seasonally adjusted basis.
Analysts say the February numbers, especially during a month of unusually harsh winter weather, suggests the American economy's slow recovery remains on track.
