Federal authorities have charged Keith Mickens, a former United Auto Workers union official, with siphoning funds intended for a worker training center operated by the UAW and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV.
He is the fifth UAW or FCA employee charged in the scandal, which involves some $4.5 million in diverted training center funds. The probe has produced four guilty pleas to date.
Mickens was the administrative aide to the late General Holiefield, who headed the UAW’s Chrysler contract negotiating team between 2009 and 2014. He is charged with diverting about $8,000 for himself and other UAW officials to buy electronics, luggage, designer clothes and golf equipment.
