Honda Motor Co. says cost cutting, coupled with strong sales in Asia and North America, boosted its net profit in July-September 7% to 128 billion yen ($1.1 billion).

Quarterly unit deliveries rose 3% to 435,600 vehicles, in part because of demand for the company’s all-new HR-V small crossover. Revenue for the quarter climbed 16% to 3.6 trillion yen ($30 billion).

Honda reiterates it expects a full-fiscal year operating profit of 685 billion yen ($5.7 billion) and a net profit of 525 billion yen ($4.3 billion). The company raised its revenue forecast by 100 billion yen to 14.6 trillion yen ($121 billion).
