Nonfarm employers in the U.S. filled 321,000 jobs in November, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The unemployment rate was unchanged at 5.8%, its lowest in six years.
November's job gain marked the 10th consecutive month of job growth in excess of 200,000 positions the longest such advance since March 1995.
Manufacturing added 28,000 jobs, with durable goods producers (including carmakers) accounting for 17,000 of the total.
