General Motors Co. and the United Auto Workers union may be ready tomorrow to announce a tentative contract deal, sources tell Reuters.

Both sides reportedly were near agreement today and were finalizing the wording of some elements of the package. GM CEO Mary Barra and President Mark Reuss joined the negotiations earlier today, a sign that the two sides are closing in on a new four-year pact.
The UAW already has called a meeting of its GM Council for Thursday, presumably to review the status of the talks. One of the council’s roles is to vote on whether to put a tentative agreement before the 42,000 affected union members for a ratification vote.
