Toyota to Race C-HR Crossover at Nurburgring
Toyota Motor Corp. plans to enter three vehicles in this year’s Nurburgring 24 Hours competition, including a modified version of its upcoming C-HR concept crossover vehicle.

Toyota Motor Corp. plans to enter three vehicles in this year’s Nurburgring 24 Hours competition, including a modified version of its C-HR concept crossover vehicle. This will be the first time a crossover vehicle is run in the grueling endurance event in Germany, according to the carmaker.
The racing version of the subcompact crossover will be introduced alongside the base C-HR concept in March at the Geneva auto show. Toyota hasn’t said what modifications will be made to the C-HR racer or if it will keep the base model’s hybrid powertrain and continuously variable transmission.
A production version of the C-HR is expected to go on sale late this year. It will be sold in the U.S. under Toyota’s Scion brand.
This will be the 10th year Toyota (with motorsports partner Gazoo Racing) has competed at Nurburgring. In addition the C-HR, Toyota will run its Lexus RC and RC F coupes at the event in May.
