Toyota Recalls Another 169,500 Takata Airbag Inflators
Next week Toyota Motor Corp. will begin calling back 169,500 cars, trucks and SUVs in the U.S. to replace airbag inflators whose propellant may explode in a crash.

Next week Toyota Motor Corp. will begin calling back 169,500 cars, trucks and SUVs in the U.S. to replace airbag inflators whose propellant may explode in a crash.
The new campaign involves certain 2002-2005 Lexus SC sport coupes and Toyota Sequoia large SUVs; 2003-2005 Toyota Corolla sedans and Tundra fullsize pickups (pictured); and 2003-2007 Pontiac Vibe small wagons. Toyota will handle recalls for Toyota and Lexus brand models, and General Motors Co. will process notifications for Vibe owners.
The recall is part of a staged process rolled out by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that covers some 39 million Takata inflators used by a dozen carmakers. Manufacturers previously have recalled 29 million such devices in the U.S.
