Tesla Motors Inc. says a pair of software updates should fix complaints that the “falcon-wing” doors on its $80,000 Model X electric crossover don’t work properly.
The Model X went on sale late last year. But many owners say the electronically controlled double-hinged doors sometimes fail to open or close. CEO Elon Musk concedes the complex mechanism has been difficult to tame and should have been held for the second-generation model.
But Musk told Tesla shareholders on Tuesday that the company will issue two software updates over the next several weeks that should fix the problem.
