Tesla Motors Inc. has hired Ganesh Srivats, a former strategic planning and retailing executive with British fashion house Burberry plc as its new vice president of North American sales.
The job is a new one for the electric-vehicle maker. Srivats' mission will be to strengthen Tesla's image as a provider of luxury electric vehicles and to build long-term relationships with its customers in North America.
Tesla says it plans to hire additional sales chiefs with similar roles in other major markets. Jerome Guillen, who had been the company's vice president of global sales and service, will shift his focus to the vehicle delivery experience and customer relations.
