SAE International is launching a new technical journal to showcase original research and review papers about electric, hybrid and other alternative powertrains.

SAE International Journal of Alternative Powertrains aims to foster discussion among engineers, researchers, academics and industry experts. The first two issues are slated to appear in July and December.

The new publication's editor-in-chief is Zoran Filipi, a former research professor of mechanical engineering at the University of Michigan, who currently holds the Timken Endowed Chair in vehicle design and development at Clemson University.
