China's Wanxiang Group, which acquired the assets of bankrupt Fisker Automotive Holdings Inc. in March, still aims to introduce an updated version of the Fisker Karma hybrid in 2015, sources tell Reuters.
Wanxiang said earlier this year it intended to resume Karma production through Finland's Valmet Automotive, the car's original assembler. Reuters says the revived car will look like the original $100,000 model but will remedy shortcomings that prompted three recalls of the 2012 edition.
Wanxiang said in April it hoped to follow the reborn Karma with a wagon variant called the Surf in 2016, then a lower-cost Atlantic sedan in 2017.
