Lamborghini SpA’s next hypercar reportedly will be powered by a hybrid-electric system.
Sources tell the website the new vehicle will borrow design cues from last year’s Terzo Millennio (pictured) concept car that Lamborghini developed in conjunction with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Production will be limited to 63 units, with prices starting at $2.5 million, according to the report. Deliveries are expected to begin next year. Lamborghini declined to comment, but company officials previously have hinted that a hybrid model could be in the works.
No details were provided about the LB48H’s powertrain. Other media reports suggest the car will use a plug-in hybrid architecture that also could be used in the replacement for the Aventador supercar, which is due early next decade.
