Renault SA has lowered its holding in Nissan Motor Co. to 42.4% from 43.4%, according to a regulatory filing with Japan’s finance ministry, Bloomberg News reports.
The filing does not explain why Renault sold off a portion of its stake. Nissan’s equity in Renault remains at 15%. The companies formed their highly successful cross-shareholding alliance in March 1999.
