Renault SA has quietly extended the range of its 2015 Zoe electric supermini 14% to 240 km per charge, Autoevolution reports.

The Bucharest-based blog says this year's Zoe features a lighter and more efficient traction motor. The car also is equipped with a revised lithium-ion battery that can be charged in 10% less time than the first-generation model.

General performance specifications for the new motor are unchanged, however. Like the current motor, the new unit is rated at 65 kw (87 hp) and 220 Nm (162 lb-ft). The car's price also is unchanged at €22,500.
