PSA Group’s DS brand says every new model it introduces starting in 2025 will be equipped with a plug-in hybrid or all-electric powertrain.
The upscale brand is PSA’s first to declare a 100% electrification policy. The marque joins several that have declared plans to migrate to electrified powertrains.
The first of DS’s entries, a plug-in variant of the DS 7 E-Tense 4x4 sporty crossover, will debut in Europe at the end of 2019. The car is normally powered by a 300-hp gasoline engine but can travel 50 km (31 miles) in all-electric mode.
DS also will unveil its first all-electric model at the Paris auto show in September. It isn’t clear when the EV—likely a version of the DS 3 Crossback, a replacement for the conventionally powered compact DS 3 hatchback—will go on sale. Reports have suggested the Crossback also will be offered with a plug-in hybrid powertrain.
