Automobili Pininfarina has partnered with Germany’s Bosch Engineering and Benteler International to develop a chassis for high-performance electric vehicles.

The partners will start with the “skateboard” style EV platform Benteler unveiled as Electric Drive System 2.0 (pictured) at the Shanghai auto show in April.
Automobili Pininfarina was launched last year by Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.’s Pininfarina design unit. The company says it intends to develop an array of high-performance EVs, starting with a crossover vehicle in 2020.
The EVs will be priced well below the $2.3 million electric Battista supercar Pininfarina debuted in production form last month at Monterey Car Week in California. The company expects to begin hand-building 150 Batistas in late 2020.
The supercar features four electric motors that produce a combined 1,900 hp, enough to propel the two-seater from zero to 100 kph in less than two seconds.
