Nissan Motor Co. has launched production of its second all-electric vehicle, the e-NV200 van, in Barcelona.

The facility is the sole source of the model, which Nissan plans to export to 20 international markets, including Japan. The e-NV200, which joins the Nissan Leaf electric sedan, will be marketed in Europe as a light commercial van, passenger vehicle and electric taxi.

Nissan also plans to export the e-NV200 to 20 international markets, including Japan.

Barcelona will introduce the e-NV200 as an electric taxi. Nissan's piston-powered NV200 has been adopted as a taxi in New York City, and Nissan said previously that an electric version may be offered later.
