Honda Motor Co.'s next-generation Acura NSX hybrid supercar will make a combined 573 hp and 476 lb-ft of torque when it hits the streets next spring.

The long-awaited NSX, which was unveiled in concept form in 2012, teams a 3.5-liter V-6 engine and a 9-speed dual-clutch transmission with three electric motors and a lithium-ion battery pack. The twin-turbo, direct-injection V-6 cranks out 500 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque, with the rest of the oomph coming from the electric motors.

Acura says the all-wheel-drive NSX can zip from zero to 60 mph in just over three seconds on its way to a top speed of 191 mph and redline of 7,500 rpm. Fuel economy numbers haven't been released.

The hybrid configuration features a pair of electric motors on the front axles to provide torque vectoring between the wheels, and a single one in the back that is paired with the engine to drive the rear wheels. The battery is wedged between the engine and seats.

The added components hikes the new NSX's weight to 3,800 lbs, making it about 240 lbs heavier than its V-10-powered predecessor. The increase is kept in check somewhat by the new model's all-aluminum monocoque chassis. Other goodies include fully independent front and rear suspensions, magnetic dampers at all four corners and electric power steering.
