Canada's Magna International Inc. has acquired the electronic components, head-up display and ultrasonic sensor units of Germany's Philips & Lite-On Digital Solutions Corp. Terms were not disclosed.

Magna says the purchases are intended to strengthen its electronics engineering capabilities in Europe.

The deals involve PLDS operations in Wetzlar, Germany and Hsinchu, Taiwan. The two units offer products involving automotive wireless charging, vehicle connectivity, head-up displays and electro-mechanical devices.
