Lamborghini SpA’s Squandra Corse motorsports unit is developing a track-only variant of the Aventador supercar that could generate as much as 830 hp.

Power will come from an up-rated version of the carmaker’s 6.5-liter V-12 engine—that generates 770 hp 530 lb-ft of torque in the Aventador SVJ roadster—mated to a Xtrac sequential transmission with a self-locking differential. The vehicle is expected to compete in the Le Mans hypercar category starting in 2021.
A teaser image and video show enhanced aerodynamic elements and unique styling cues from the various road-going Aventador models. Changes will include a vented hood, roof-mounted air scoop and a large rear wing.
The new hypercar is expected to be revealed next year.
