South Korean regulators have accused Nissan Motor Co. of manipulating fuel economy figures for its Infiniti Q50 luxury sedan, and prosecutors are investigating, an official tells Reuters.

Korea claims Nissan overstated the fuel efficiency of the car by 3%. The company acknowledges to the news service that it reported “inappropriate problems” last year with certification documents handled by one of the company’s managers.

The new complaint comes four days after a Korean court agreed that Nissan had equipped diesel-powered Qashqai crossover vehicles with illegal devices to cheat on emission tests. Nissan insists its vehicles comply with all regulations.

Last month Korea’s environment ministry banned the sale of 10 BMW, Nissan and Porsche models after concluding the companies had manipulated emission and noise-level certification tests. Now officials are investigating whether the three companies falsified fuel economy data for the same models.
