Kia Prices Soul EV at $34,500
The electric version of Kia Motors Corp.'s popular Soul people mover will be offered in the U.S. later this year at a price about $4,600 above the cost of a rival Nissan Leaf EV.

The electric version of Kia Motors Corp.'s popular Soul people mover will be offered in the U.S. later this year at a price about $4,600 above the cost of a rival Nissan Leaf EV.
The Soul EV will retail for $34,500 compared with $29,900 for the Leaf. Buyers of both cars are eligible for a $7,500 federal tax rebate.
The car is expected to have a government-estimated range of 93 miles and fuel efficiency of 105 mpg-equivalent in combined city/highway driving. Those ratings compare with 84 miles and 101 mpg-equivalent for the 2014 Leaf.
Kia will introduce the Soul EV its first electric model in California and expand into more states in 2015.
