Kia Motors Corp. has hired Russel Wager to head the company’s marketing efforts in the U.S., Marketing Daily reports.

Wager, who left Mazda Motor Corp. last September, confirmed he is joining Kia. But he didn’t specify his job title.
Sources tell Marketing Daily that Wager (right) will start as director of marketing and could eventually become a vice president. Saad Chehab held both titles for two years before he quit last month.
Wager joined Mazda North America in 2012 as vice president of marketing. He previously was senior vice president and managing director for DDB Advertising’s Beijing office. He also managed automotive accounts for several other agencies.
