California-based Karma Automotive LLC is updating its Revero plug-in hybrid sedan and plans to expand sales to European and Asian markets later this year.

Karma launched the stylish $130,000 Revero in the U.S. in 2017. The car is based on Fisker Automotive’s short-lived Karma model that was discontinued when that company went bankrupt in 2014.

The mid-cycle facelift will feature styling tweaks to the Revero’s front and rear, according to Autocar. Camouflaged versions of the vehicle have been spotted being road tested in Europe.

The update also is expected to include improvements to the vehicle’s hybrid drivetrain, which teams a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine with twin electric motors that produce a combined 403 hp and a whopping 981 lb-ft of torque. The car has a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency fuel efficiency rating of 60 e-mpg.

The Revero’s 20.8-kWh battery enables a 50-mile range in all-electric mode. The battery can be partially recharged via a roof-mounted solar array. Performance gains for both systems are expected with the new model, Autocar says.

China’s Wanxiang Group bought the assets of Fisker Automotive four years ago and renamed the company Karma Automotive. Wanxiang also acquired A123 Systems, which supplies the lithium-ion battery for the Karma/Revero.
