The U.S. Dept. of Justice says Japan’s Omron Automotive Electronics Co. has agreed to plead guilty to criminal price fixing and pay a $4.6 million fine.

The company is accused of conspiring with other suppliers to set prices on window switches used in Honda Civic small sedans during the 2006-2011 model years. The charges are part of an international investigation into vehicle component bid rigging that began five years ago.

The Justice Dept. says it so far has prosecuted 39 companies and 58 executives and levied more than $2.6 billion in criminal fines.
