January Sales Fall for Volkswagen Brand

Volkswagen Group reports that worldwide deliveries for its namesake brand dropped 3% to 507,100 units in January in what sales and marketing chief Christian Klingler describes as an uncertain and "challenging" year.
Retail sales in China slipped 1% to 265,900 units last month. Deliveries in Europe came to 124,900 vehicles, also down 1%, but gained 3% to 42,900 units in Germany.
Demand fell 15% to 34,200 in Brazil last month. Sales in the U.S. were flat at 23,500 units.
