Jaguar I-Pace EV Named European Car of the Year

Jaguar Land Rover Ltd.’s all-electric Jaguar I-Pace crossover vehicle has been named European Car of the Year by a group of 60 journalists from 23 countries.
The Kia Ceed sedan finished a close third with 247 votes, followed by the Ford Focus (235 votes). The other finalists were the Citroen C5 Aircross, Mercedes-Benz A-Class and Peugeot 508.
The I-Pace’s win marks the first time a Jaguar model has won the title in the 55-year history of the European Car of the Year. This year also is the first time two vehicles posted the same score for the top spot.
Judges evaluated 60 vehicles based on performance, design, safety, comfort, environmental characteristics and value. Each judge had 25 points to allocate in the final round of scoring, with no more than 10 points allowed per vehicle.
