Israel’s Innoviz Technologies Inc.’s solid-state lidar system was selected as the “Best of Innovation” winner in the Vehicle Intelligence and Self-Driving Technology category by the organizers of the CES electronics show.

Founded in 2016, Innoviz specializes in MEMS (micro-electro-mechanical system) solid-state lidar. The company, which is part owned by Magna and Aptiv, announced a deal with Magna in April to supply lidar sensors on future BMW autonomous vehicles.

Innoviz bested 19 other nominated technologies in the category, including four products developed by Bosch. BMW, Continental, Daimler and Magneti Marelli also made the list.

The winners were selected by a panel of industrial designers, independent engineers and tech journalists. All Honorees and Best of Innovation winners across 28 categories will be showcased in January at CES 2019 in Las Vegas. A complete list of the winners is available HERE.
