Hyundai Motor America has appointed Angela Zepeda, who had been a managing partner for the carmaker’s advertising agency, chief marketing officer for its U.S. operations.

She succeeds Dean Evans, who left Hyundai last week to pursue other opportunities. Evans joined Hyundai in 2015 and led several high-profile campaigns, including this year’s humorous Super Bowl spot that featured actor Jason Bateman.
In her new position, Zepeda will report to Hyundai Motor America chief operating officer Brian Smith. She will be responsible for all of Hyundai's marketing activities in the U.S., including strategic direction, advertising and brand development.
Zepeda most recently was a senior vice president at Huntington Beach, Calif.-based Innocean USA, where she oversaw the Hyundai account. Previous ad agency assignments include CEO of Quigley-Simpson in Los Angeles and chief marketing officer for Campbell Ewald’s Los Angeles office.
