Honda Motor Co. is adding a hybrid-electric variant to its Ridgeline midsize pickup truck, according to leaked information on a dealership website.
In a since deleted post, a Honda dealership in Covington, La., said the 2020 Ridgeline will feature a mid-cycle update that includes new styling and an optional hybrid system. The latter is said to team a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine with two electric motors—the same setup (below) that is used in the hybrid versions of the Accord sedan and CR-V crossover vehicle.

The 2019 Ridgeline is powered by a 3.5-liter V-6 engine mated with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The engine makes 280 hp and has a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency fuel economy rating of 22 mpg.
Styling changes will include a new front end—with a modified grille and updated headlights—according to the report. The Ridgeline’s interior is expected to feature a revamped instrument cluster.
