Carlos Ghosn tells the Financial Times he isn’t likely to remain CEO at Renault SA through his new contract, which will expire in 2022.
He hinted as much to French lawmakers in January. A month later he vowed to make the company’s alliance with Nissan and Mitsubishi Motors “irreversible.”
Ghosn tells FT he does expect to serve as Renault’s chairman over the next four years, however. He also will remain chairman of Nissan and Mitsubishi Motors and continue as both chairman and CEO of the companies’ three-way alliance.
Ghosn dropped his CEO job at Nissan in February 2017. At the time, he said he wanted to spend more time on strategic and operational improvements to the alliance.
