Geely Automobile Holding Co. predicts its sales will jump 27%—nine times the pace of the Chinese car market overall—to 1.58 million vehicles this year, Shanghai Daily reports.
The company’s sales zoomed 50% to 765,900 units in 2016 and 63% to 1.24 million last year. Geely credits the growth spurt to a lineup of popular SUV/crossovers and sedans.
Last April the company also launched its Lynk & Co. brand of Volvo-based cars. Geely has said Lynk will begin selling a small hybrid crossover in Europe in 2019 and in the U.S. in 2020. The brand, which targets annual sales of 500,000 units within five years, plans to market the cars direct to consumers via the internet.
