Ford Will Cut More than 5,000 Jobs in Germany, U.K.
Ford Motor Co. says it will eliminate more than 5,000 fulltime and temporary jobs in Germany and the U.K., mainly through voluntary separations.

Ford Motor Co. says it will eliminate more than 5,000 fulltime and temporary jobs in Germany and the U.K., mainly through voluntary separations.
The cuts are part of the global restructuring plan Ford announced in January. The plan involves the creation of three customer-focused operating groups in Europe: passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles and imports.
The initiative will prune Ford’s product lineup in Europe, eliminating low-profit lines and models and enhancing the appeal of those that remain. In January, the company said it would revamp its European lineup and close its transmissions plant in Bordeaux, France.
Ford is widely expected to phase out its C-Max minivan as it refocuses on more profitable commercial vans and SUV/crossover vehicles.
