Ford Motor Co.’s board has declared a special dividend of 25 cents per share on top of the company’s regular quarterly payout of 15 cents. Both payments will occur on March 1.
The extra dividend is worth $1 billion. CEO Mark Fields says the payout reflects six consecutive years of strong financial results.
Calling 2015 as a “breakthrough” year, Ford says its pretax operating profit will be close to $11 billion. The company predicts it will at least match last year’s revenue and operating profit margin this year. Full-year financial results for 2015 are scheduled for release on Jan. 28.
