Federal-Mogul Holdings Corp. is opening four regional centers in the U.S. to train independent auto service writers, technicians and shop owners on the intricacies of today's complex vehicles.
The company's Federal-Mogul Motorsports aftermarket business plans to open as many as 11 more such "Garage Gurus" facilities by the end of 2015, covering some 67,000 local repair shops. The first four centers will be in the Bronx; St. Louis; Skokie, Ill.; and Van Nuys, Calif.
The company says the initiative will offer onsite, online and on-demand training. The services also are available for dealership technicians and service writers.
